Rail gantry cranes are large and powerful lifting machines that enable the horizontal and vertical transportation of heavy loads. These cranes usually consist of two vertical support columns and a horizontal beam. While the support columns move on rails, the lifting mechanism (pulley or trolley) on the horizontal beam can lift and carry loads by moving back and forth. Unlike bridge cranes, which move on fixed rails, rail gantry cranes usually operate on ground-mounted rails. Areas of Use Ports and Shipyards: Frequently used for loading, unloading and transportation of containers.
